A leading connectivity and data center solutions provider in West Africa, MainOne, has advised oil and gas companies in Ghana to gain competitive advantage by embracing innovative practices and technology for accelerated digital transformation. Speaking during an interview at the 7th Ghana Oil and Gas Summit in Accra recently, the company’s Sales Manager, Michael Kwamena-Poh, highlighted the importance of technology in driving down costs and optimizing operational efficiency.
“With plunging oil prices and shrinking corporate budgets, energy players cannot afford to remain the same. Oil and gas companies must learn how to gain operational efficiencies through improved use of technology in both downstream and upstream operations. Technology offers a robust platform to give oil and gas players’ better return on investment through cheaper and predictable OPEX costs”, Kwamena-Poh said.
He canvassed for adoption of technology solutions including Data Center, Colocation, Cloud solutions and advanced Connectivity offerings, which he said will help businesses achieve operational efficiency during this challenging period.
The 7th Ghana Oil and Gas Summit, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), among others, provided MainOne the platform to share views with critical stakeholders including government representatives, GNPC management, and local and industry leaders on issues facing the industry.
