LAGOS, Nigeria.– December 30, 2024 – Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s digital infrastructure company™, has undertaken significant improvements at Akinlade Primary School, Okun-Mopo, Lagos, Nigeria, the recipient of the Company’s 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The first phase, completed in November 2023, focused on fundamental improvements such as refurbishing classrooms, providing new desks and chairs for students, and repainting the school’s exterior and interior. The second phase of the project in 2024 completed the improvements with the renovation of toilet facilities, the establishment of a fully equipped sickbay, and the creation of a modern tuck shop with functional amenities.
The success of this CSR initiative was made possible through donations from Equinix employees in Nigeria and funding from Equinix, Inc. Through collaborative efforts, funds were raised, and volunteers participated in the renovation activities at the school, contributing to the betterment of the community. In appreciation to Equinix, the Head Teacher of Akinlade Nursery and Primary School, Mrs. T.M Bakare expressed, “The transformation of our school has been nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to Equinix, our students now have a safe and conducive environment to learn and thrive. This project is a testament to the corporate commitment to education. We are deeply grateful for this incredible effort that will impact generations to come.”
