Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo joined Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to kick off the construction of the Edo Tech Park (ETP). The park, a mini city for software engineers, is being developed in Benin by Decagon, one of Africa’s leading source of world-class engineers.
Designed to be an exciting live, work and play project with a first phase that spans over 20,000 square metres, the Park will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure including high-speed internet via fibre-optic connectivity provided by MainOne in collaboration with Facebook.
In 2019, MainOne announced its partnership with Facebook and launched its services in Edo State, with extensive fiber infrastructure deployment across Benin City beneficial to improving the quality of Internet access and accelerating digital transformation by providing improved connectivity services. The partnership leverages MainOne’s strength as a wholesale Telecoms Infrastructure service provider with investment from Facebook and support from local regulatory and state authorities to further deepen broadband penetration in Nigeria.

The Edo Tech Park is being developed in partnership with the Edo State Government, through its employment initiative – EdoJobs.
