MainOne Newsletter – Q2, 2020: Resiliency and Business Continuity in a Digital World

As COVID-19 continues to present great risks across the world and wreak havoc on lives and the global economy, MainOne is pleased that we are able to make positive contributions to help our immediate communities and our customers alike.

From partnerships with Lagos, Edo State Governments and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to connect key centers and provide high-speed internet access to contain the spread of the pandemic in Nigeria, to supporting critical Government locations with increased internet capacity in Ghana. We have reconfigured services for a lot of our customers, ensuring continuity of essential services during this period. With key focus on sustainability and safety, we also embedded staff in our critical locations as we managed through the lockdown period.

Post COVID-19, we expect technology adoption will be a critical driver for businesses to address what will become the new normal in enforcing social distancing while enhancing business resiliency, business continuity and data security. Now more than ever, safeguarding data and prioritizing backup strategy have become essential. Data Centers will provide greater levels of security, flexibility and accessibility to data and information around the world.

Today’s businesses will need to re-evaluate their strengths, weaknesses and make improvements in areas that require more flexibility. Resilience will be at the forefront of every strategy to deal with the new post-COVID normal while agility will ensure competitiveness and responsiveness to the unexpected. We believe businesses that are able to leverage strategic IT services will emerge from this period stronger and be able to compete in the emerging global connected society.
